About Me

Hi, my name is Lorissa, and I am a Makeup Artist and owner of Elle Makeup Artistry. My passion for what I do came as a young girl, when I used to beg and plead with my mother to let me play with her makeup. When I turned 13, I got my very first makeup kit....and it was on! I wasn't allowed to wear it to school yet, but you better believe that I had a full face of it on everyday around the house. From there, my obsession grew bigger, when I would babysit just to get money for more makeup. I did makeup for my sister's and friend's highschool dances and proms. Then as we grew older, it was makeup for my sister's weddings and close friend's weddings and my friends were telling their friends. From there, I began working with an amazing photographer, doing makeup for everything from Weddings, to Editorials and Boudoir Shoots, and everything in between. I absolutely LOVE making people feel beautiful and confident!

I also love working on Editorial Photoshoots, because it gives me a chance to be a bit more creative, and it allows me to showcase my interpretation of the theme of the photoshoot and styling. I truely enjoy what I do so much and I am so passionate about it. "Do what you LOVE, and you'll never work a day in your life." It's a pretty popular quote, but it sure rings a bell with me! It is such a privilege and fun aspect of my life, to get to meet new people, and show them a side of themselves that they may not have known they had! My favorite part is watching them take that first look in the mirror when I'm all finished, and I can see that inner confidence and beauty shining out. I will never get tired of that!

The most common question I get asked as a Makeup Artist, is "What is your favorite beauty secret?". And my answer is, "To smile!" It makes everyone look their most beautiful, and it has such a positive effect on all those around you. And to quote the amazing Audrey Hepburn, "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."

I am so excited where my adventure of a life is taking me, and I wouldn't be where I am without the loving support of my family and friends. My husband is my biggest fan, and I love him for all of his encouragement and support!
